MDL Marinas, Europe’s largest marina operator, has agreed and signed a contract to operate a new Italian marina, Marina del Gargano in Manfredonia, in Puglia will see the picturesque marina become part of their Mediterranean network.

The company was selected to operate the marina because of experience gained running other international marinas, including its Spanish marina, Sant Carles.

The marina group has won a number of international contracts over the past year – whilst continuing in its home market – despite the economic downturn.

Marina del Gargano, which will open in March 2013, will offer 700 berths for boats ranging from 8-60 metres, as well as a number of on-site facilities and services, including:

  • 24-hour security
  • Covered private car parking
  • Concierge service
  • Children’s play area
  • Bicycle hire
  • Solarium
  • On-site lounges
  • Restaurants

A swimming pool will also be opening later next year. Puglia is renowned for its sun-drenched landscapes and delicious food as well as for having some of Italy’s most beautiful coastline.

MDL’s consultancy division has won a number of recent contracts – providing specialist business advice and solutions to clients worldwide. The consultancy offers services and advice on all aspects of marina and waterfront property development and aims to create vibrant and profitable leisure destinations with long-term commercial viability.
